By now you're settled in and have some confidence in making marks and expressing yourself. It's time to move on and learn some new techniques, look at how art really affects people and start to be able to discuss and write about how works of art affect you.
what you will learn
- All about colour theory - including how to mix colours, how colours work together and how artists use colour in their own work.
- To use watercolours in a variety of ways - creating washes, blending colours and adding details.
- How the Impressionists changed the art world - by challenging long held beliefs and ways of working.
- Skills to help you talk about your own work - to help you feel more comfortable in class discussing your ideas
key words/terms
- COMPLEMENTARY CONTRAST - Pairs of colours that contrast with each other more than any other colour, and when placed side-by-side make each other look brighter.
